Segmented turning takes many many hours to complete, as each piece of wood has to be cut and glued together starting from the base and working up. Once the desired pattern is reached, the piece is then put to one side for a month before mounting on the lathe, this is where you hold your breath as one false move with the chisels and that's the end of many hours of accurate work. |
